Codies On The Racing Trail

Having already confirmed an all new F1 game, Codemasters are packing their racing grid with the announcement of Colin McRae: DiRT 3. The developers say they are already hard at work on a sequel to last year's brilliant DiRT 2. This also comes off the back of this weeks revelation of Bodycount, an all new shooter indicating that 2010 will be a busy year for the British based company.

"Really, it's all about letting the teams just innovate. There's some great stuff coming from Birmingham that's going into DiRT 3, and obviously you've seen Bodycount," said Gavin Chesire, VP at Codemasters Studios. He continued, "It's about the culture we've created and making the best games you can. DiRT 2: brilliant game but it's all American accents, so maybe we're a little over the top with those. Maybe we should fly the flag a bit more."

Ah some good old patriotic talk there. On plans for their racing franchises, Chesire said, "There's an overwhelming arcing vision to all of our racing titles, and Grid is incredibly strong, but we're lucky enough to be in a position where we've got racing games in different areas." All is looking rosy over in Codies land, all we need to do now is sharpen up those track skills before the influx of racing games hit our consoles later in the year.
