New Lego Star Wars Unveiled

How do you say "milking it" in Wookiee?

Just when you thought the saga was done and dusted, Lucasarts and Traveller's Tales have officially announced a brand new game in the Lego Star Wars range. Following on from the first two games, and the epic compilation of the pair (The Complete Saga), Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars will take its inspiration from the CG-animated series, which currently airs in the UK on Sky Movies.

The official press release states "LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will combine the best elements of all previous LEGO games while adding brand new gameplay to make it the most action-packed LEGO videogame to date". Surely it's Lego Star Wars 4, or am I just being picky?

It should be a fairly packed character roster, as the game "include all the characters from both seasons of the hugely popular animated television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as some fan-favourite characters from the beloved theatrical Star Wars Saga". Well, it's got to have Boba Fett in it, or else it won't sell.

Following on from new features seen in Lego Indiana Jones 2, LSW3 will also offer "an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields", as well as "a new, easy-to-navigate hub". Ultimately, as long as it's got 1000 doable achievement points, I'm there.

Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars will be released in Autumn of 2010, for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PSP.
