What's on your wishlist?
'Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la whatever. It's the time of year to start stuffing stockings, gorging on mulled wine and mince pies, and abusing the mistletoe at the office party until your boss has to have one of those 'talks' with you again at New Year. More importantly, it's time for you to work out what you want under the tree besides socks from your auntie and gift vouchers from Nan.
So we've gone and boiled down what will be dominating wishlists everywhere this year, from consoles and hand-held to the poor old PC. It's a veritable Best Of list this year, and to help make sure you don't end up with a stinker, we've even noted some that you should keep the receipt for. No one wants to be stuck with Wheelspin this Christmas.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Perhaps the only problem with Modern Warfare 2 is...who hasn't got a copy by now? Most hardcore gamers have a copy by now, with many remarkably peeved after shelling out for Activision's frankly stupid launch fee - which is quickly vanishing barely a month later. Despite this, the sheer volume of gamers who didn't pluck up the cash at launch will no doubt want to get in on the action by the time the Queen's Speech is on.
Assassin's Creed II
A vastly improved sequel and as perfectly structured as a free-roaming action/adventure game can get, the story of Ezio's fall and rise in Renaissance Italy pushed Ubisoft's historically histrionic series into the realms of the classics. If there's one title guaranteed to have gamers climbing the walls more than the cat after your dad's had his sprouts, its Assassin's Creed II.
FIFA 10
There's nothing more festive than the sound of 22 overpaid men kicking a ball around in front of thousands of noisy cretins. With PES still languishing in the doldrums of mediocrity, EA's FIFA team has worked wonders on their once maligned football sim, turning it into a silky smooth and feature packed wunderkind with great career ahead. This'll keep the Winter months at bay long into Summer.
